I've eaten here several times over the past few years and got my first bad meal today,not horrible but not up to the standard here. I'm talking low grade crabcake,like frozen from the supermarket. The clam chowder was exemplary. Everything was cooked and served well but it could and should have been better. I used to really look forward to eating here but it's been slipping since they took the counter out. I won't condemn it but I won't recommend it either.
Really good food with great staff. Nice variety with good portions of food. Packed house the day we went, but they have lots of seating and we were waited on quickly. Very popular with the locals too.
A great place for a family to eat. There were six of us. The wait to eat was very short. They have a kids menu which we used. The waitress was helpful and did a great job. The food was fresh and tasty. The whole family loved it. Before you go check their operating hours. My family gives it a thumbs up.
Food was excellent, well priced, the staff was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant was very clean! We were sat immediately and waitress was quick to our table. Our drink and food orders came out quickly despite a decently large crowd. We had a group of 8 and every one of us left happy and full! I will definitely eat here again if I'm in Oak Island.
Had a DELICIOUS chicken lunch special on a Thursday. There were 4 diff chicken specials to choose from: BBQ, Fried (dark or light options), Livers, or Chicken and Dumplings. I chose a big juicy fried chicken breast, wing, and the sides of jalapeño + bacon cornbread, Mac and Cheese, Black Eyed Peas and my big drink of iced tea. Total came to $9. Well worth it. Service was friendly and super fast. A simple place. Very casual, no frills, filled with local hardworking contractors, couples, single seniors, you name it. Everyone treated well and well fed! Easy free parking. Can't wait to go back.
